Thelisa Ward
Office Manager
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Thelisa spent extended holidays and summers in Maringouin, Louisiana with both her maternal and fraternal grandparents. Her parents were high school sweethearts and held the senior superlative of “most like to marry” in their yearbook. Before the world was blessed with Thelisa, they were first given her brother three years prior to her arrival.
Ms. Thelisa became a graduate of Carsson high school and grew into a successful entrepreneur and dedicated professional whose authentic spirit was evidently rooted in her family’s culture values.
In growing up, Thelisa witnessed her parents and grandparents facing great struggles and triumphs which empowered her to pursue her own dreams fearlessly. Learning of her grandmother being a hairdresser and salon owner in the early 1940s set the path for Thelisa’s own entrepreneurial journey.
Thelisa remembers spending summers working with her mother during her early years which led her through diverse career paths, each shaped by a strong work ethic and a desire to connect with others. She started her career as a licensed hairstylist right out of high school and spent over two decades perfecting her craft in the beauty industry. For some time, her talents were showcased in hair shows and fashion events, earning her accolades for her innovative styles.
When the world shifted to computers, Thelisa began learning how to program her PC and took night classes to gain a better understanding of technology. Transitioning into the corporate world, she excelled as a real estate investor while working as a receptionist and customer service representative where she honed her skills in client relations and learned the importance of treating people with care and respect.
In 2008, a daring business venture and opportunity arose from a previous coworker in which Thelisa worked with. She wholeheartedly embraced the new challenge and obtained her CDL license and became an owner and operator of her own truck, being one of many lady drivers in the transportation industry.
Today, Thelisa channels her experiences into her role as an Office Manager. She holds meaningful and useful certifications and a Life Skills Certification as a Dream Building Coach. She looks forward in furthering her career as a Peer Specialist and a Forensic Peer Specialist.
She is passionate about her recovery, helping others on their journeys to resilience and personal growth.
